Governor Sonny Perdue and the USS Georgia Return to Service Committee were sponsors of “Bringing the USS Georgia Home: Celebrating Georgia’s Ambassador for Peace” - a statewide student art competition for Georgia art students of every age. Camden County High School student Nicole Wasson's entry was chosen as the "Captain's Choice" grand prize winner.

Nicole's color pencil drawing incorporates the submarine, state seal, state bird, state flower and a Georgia peach.
